Semantic Tags

Semantic Tags reflects the intended meaning.
These tags are used to give the detailed information about the content. For example, you will come across few tags like emphasis, strong, etc.

<em> </em>
is used to emphasize a particular word/words in a paragraph.
<strong> </strong>
will highlight the text by making it bold.

Emphasis Tag

<em> </em>

The Emphasis tag is used to emphasize particular words in a sentence. The content written between the em tags will be displayed by the browser in the italic form.

Example:

<p>
<em>I</em> never said she stole my money.
</p>
The output would be
I never said she stole my money.

In the above example I is emphasized.

If we say the above sentence with emphasis on differnt words everytime, there will be seven different meanings for the same sentence.

Example:

<p>
I never said <em>she</em> stole my money.
</p>
The output would be
I never said she stole my money.
